Production of oysters
We produce young oysters (known as "spat") in order to grow them on to market-size. We believe that our spat production will be able to supplement the wild populations of oysters around Europe through stock-enhancement, based on the principle that one has to plant before one can harvest. In additon to aquaculture, we buy wild-caught oysters for resale. However, the oysters are only sold after they have undergone a stringent purification process. We have chosen to market those oysters which we sell from Venø under the quality-name “VenOysters”.
