Our top quality oysters from Venø Fish Farm A/S are the result of a thoroughly controlled process. When the oysters are landed from the rich, salty waters of the Limfjord they are cleaned, first externally. Then they are purified in our modern depuration unit. Samples from every batch are sent to the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration laboratories for microbiological tests to verify their status. Each stage of the oysters journey, from the details of the fishing vessel to its despatch to the customer is fully documented under our HACCP program.

Every single oyster is hand sorted into one of five sizes, depending on their weight. The size of your VenOysters is your choice.

We have a large holding capacity and can therefore deliver oysters even when the fishing fleet is laid up.

For delivery, the oysters are laid convex side down in wooden boxes which are lined with shredded wood. Finally, the oysters are given the quality mark “VenOysters”.

Properly stored between 3°C and 9°C VenOysters can keep fresh for up to seven days.
